Dow names head of Rohm and Haas unit

(Reuters) - Dow Chemical Co (DOW.N), which is in the process of closing its acquisition of Rohm and Haas (ROH.N), said on Thursday that Pierre Brondeau will head its Rohm and Haas Advanced Materials Division following the close of the deal.

Brondeau is president and chief operating officer of chemical and electronic materials maker Rohm and Haas.

In July, Dow agreed to acquire Rohm and Haas for $15.3 billion, in a move to broaden its product offerings in higher margin markets such as paints, coatings and electronic materials. The deal is expected to close in early 2009. (Reporting by Euan Rocha; editing by Richard Chang)
